Welcome to The Dalles SMART & Reach Out & Read Programs Wish List.
The Dalles SMART (Start Making A Reader Today) and Reach Out and Read Program focuses on mentoring children through literacy programs that help them reach their full potential. Volunteers commit to reading one-on-one with children who are at risk of low literacy. Parents are provided with information and literacy tips to help their children become better readers and successful in life. Children receive new books on a regular basis to take home, share, and begin building libraries of their own.
Your donations will support children participating in our reading programs as well as community events promoting our programs.
