Founded in 1974, the Hospital Hospitality House provides a home away from home for families and patients facing a medical crisis. HHH provides a vital retreat from the stress of keeping a constant vigil at the side of a loved one, by offering our guests lodging, meals and supportive services. HHH also offers a variety of day services, including laundry facilities, showers and a lounge, for families who are not staying with us. The agency also sponsors educational workshops that are open to both guests, healthcare professionals, students and members of the Nashville community. These workshops address topics such as caring for the caregiver, managing stress, negotiating the healthcare world and medical insurance issues. Through the Waiting Room Adoption program, HHH provides baskets filled with snacks, toiletries, games, magazines and other items to serve patient families in waiting rooms at our local medical centers, overnight bags for patient families spending nights in waiting rooms and activity bags for children spending long hours in hospitals. Since its inception, the HHH has provided over 300,000 nights of lodging, serving guests from all 95 counties in Tennessee, all 50 states and 38 foreign countries.
