Kiwanis READS! is an award-winning signature service project of the Kiwanis Club of Ormond Beach, FL. Each year community volunteers join Kiwanis in providing opportunities for students from Ormond Beach Elementary and other local schools to select books to add to their personal home library. Every $10 we raise allows students to select two books from a selection that includes over 600 titles. Kiwanis READS! then challenges the students to read their books over the summer months to help reduce the summer and COVID-19 slide. Research proves that providing kids choice in what they read when schools and libraries are closed, reduces the learning gap. Kiwanis READS! also provides books for teachers to support their classroom libraries.
