Labor Outreach

This is an ongoing project. The Bridge International has partnered with The NC Farmworker Project in Benson, NC to provide farmworkers with basic food and hygiene items. In addition, in each kit, we include red flags about human trafficking and the phone number to The National Human Trafficking Hotline for them to call if they self identify for them to share with another farmworker they know. The goal is to partner with this agency to build rapport with 3000 farmworkers they serve and begin to bridge gaps in service for this underserved community. Due to the COVID outbreak meeting with farmworkers in the fields was difficult for months, however, our partnership with The NC Farmworker Project has allowed for us to serve over 1500 farmworkers thus far. We have also been able to serve farmworkers in Louisburg, NC, and are initiating conversations with agencies in western North Carolina to serve farmworkers in the apple and Christmas tree farms.
