Trials For Hope

Over the past eleven years, Trials for Hope has been a journey of witnessing poverty in many forms. It isn’t just about not having enough to eat or living outside. Poverty encompasses many aspects and perspectives: physical, emotional, spiritual and psychological. Hunger isn’t a class issue; it’s a hunger issue. One of the biggest gifts has been to not only watch our family who live inside or outside have hope; it’s also watching the people who help as they see and experience the gift of hope as well. One of our ongoing projects that is never ending is our hygiene bags. Personal care is a luxury that isn't covered by food stamps and if you are one of the five people in the state of Ohio suffering with a marginalized or subsidized income, this is something that cannot be taken for granted. We need help monthly from foundations and donors to help purchase and or put together. Besides doing our hygiene bags that usually are about 500 a month we will be having 2 different programs this year. Winter unsheltered bags which is mainly funded by our collaboration with Our Lady Help of Christians Parish. They have several locations where some of the members are so very generous in helping with this, and we will be having a fundraiser to also help with the expense in this. Our Children Holiday bags for underprivileged who not only need to be remembered throughout the year, they need more than candy for the holiday. Last year we were blessed with MIM helping us and this year we pray that this will happen again. We also will be using some of the money we made from our fundraiser on some items for this event as well as the holiday bags for unsheltered.^~^Since Trials for Hope was founded over 11 years ago, becoming non profit in 2015 with our original goal and mission " to help those in our community — our family — to meet their basic needs while providing them dignity, respect and love".
