Every Summer Has a Story

This event provides children living in poverty a backpack filled with 7-9 new books to keep them reading throughout the summer months. Each backpack includes age-appropriate books, coloring books, crayons, bookmarks, and school supplies.^~^Up With Books promotes reading and literacy by providing new books to low-income children, ages birth through 18. Our goal is to encourage and inspire a love of reading and establish lifelong learners. Since 2015, Up With Books has distributed over 125,000 books. Our Every Summer Has a Story reading program provides children with a backpack filled with 7-9 books, coloring books, and crayons.. Up With Books implemented the Books From the Start program which distributes new books to new and expectant parents to bring awareness of the impact of early readiness and supply them with books to begin the reading journey.
