ADFAC School Supplies Program

ADFAC provides backpacks and supplies to eligible low income students during the month of July in Anderson, Morgan and Campbell County in Tennessee. The backpacks contain all supplies specifically requested by their teachers. Donations are welcomed year round, as supplies are stored and inventoried before distribution. Over 4,000 backpacks will be delivered during 2019.^~^Aid to Distressed Families of Appalachian Counties (ADFAC) exists to support and serve those in need by assisting them in becoming stable and self-sufficient. The School Supply Program established in 1993 serves families in East Tennessee by providing backpacks packed with supplies specifically requested by their teachers. Over 270 volunteers pack backpacks during the month of July and also deliver the supplies to 36 schools in our Appalachian area. Schools choose students to receive supplies based on need. Students choose from a variety of backpacks and begin school with the same supplies as all the other children in their class. In 2019 over 4,000 backpacks will be delivered to students in Anderson, Morgan and Campbell Counties in Tennessee.
